Jon has to pay a fix-it man $60 to come to his house and $30 per hour after that. How many hours did the fix-it man work if Jon paid him $390

Since it's 60 for him to come, subtract 60. So then it is 30 dollars per hour and he paid 330. To find the unit rate, divide 330 by 30, which is 11, so the fix-it man worked 11 hours.

Given the data, the following equation can be made...

60+30x=390 where x is the number of hours the fix-it man worked

60+30x=390
subtract 60 from both sides
30x=330
divide both sides by 30
x=11 hours

Answer=11 hours
