75 ft squared.
Because 10*10=100, that is the area of the entire square. Then, 5*5=25, that is the area of the small square. 100-25=75, that is the area of the whole square

10x10 = 100 the entire square
but there is a 5x5 square that is not shaded so 100- 25 is 75 . The answer is 75 square feet
