What is the unit rate if 4 tomatos cost $3.40?

So unit rate means one of the units. In this case, units are tomatoes so you have to find the cost of one tomato. Since four of them cost $3.40, if it is divided by four, you get the unit cost.

3.40/4= 0.85

The unit rate is $0.85 per tomato.
