First we have to solve for the area of the wall.

The area of a rectangle is A=l*w

A=l*w
A=28*12
A=336 ft²

So 336 square feet were painted in 5 1/4 hours. How many square feet were painted in one hour?

Given the info, the following equation can be made.

(5 (1)/(4) hour)/(336 sq ft)= (1 hours)/(x sq feet)

Cross multiply

5 1/4x=336
divide both sides by 5 1/4
x=64ft

In one hour, 64 square feet were painted.

Tyler painted 64 square feet per hour
