What impact did President Hoover’s philosophy of government have on the economy?

President Hoover's philosophy about the government-economy interaction and influence, was devastating for the economy of the United States. Hoover's actions managed to bring in the infamous Great Depression. The Great Depression was the worst period, economically speaking, in the history of the United States, when millions of people were left without job, millions more ended up homeless, and millions were starving.

The situation was so terrible that throughout all of the country soup kitchens were opened in order for the people to be able to have a meal, and numerous massive shantytowns were built because the number of homeless people was extremely high.
