The height of an acorn falling out of a tree is given by h=-16t+b. If an acorn takes 1 second to fall to the ground what is the value of b?

From the equation given above,
h = -16t + b
If it takes 1 second to fall to the ground, we substitute 1 to t of the equation,
h = -16(1) + b
Adding 16 to both sides of the equation, the value of b would be
h + 16 = b
or
b = h + 16
