9(2) + 2x = 48
18 + 2x = 48
2x = 30
x = 15

A.) Equation of Perimeter of a rectangle (P) = 2(l + w)

48 = 2(9 + x)

B.) Solving: 48 = 2(9 + x)

48 = 18 + 2x

2x = 48 - 18

x = 30/2

x = 15

In short, Width would be: 15 inches

Hope this helps!
