Both Vicksburg, and Gettysburg, were very important victories to the Union side.

Vicksburg, Mississippi
. The event divided the Confederate forces.

Battle of Gettysburg
(July 1st to July 3rd, 1863) was one of the most important victories of the Union, and one of the most significant battles of the
Civil War
. After the victory at Chancellorsville,
Confederate General Robert E. Lee
marched into Pennsylvania in June 1863. However, he was forced to withdraw toward
Virginia
on July 4.
