Hello:
x²-4x-1=0
(x²-2(2x) +2²)-2²-1=0
(x-2)² -5 = 0
(x-2)²-(√5)² = 0
(x-2-√5)(x-2+√5) = 0
(x-2-√5=0) or (x-2+√5 = 0)
x=2+√5 or x =2-√5
