Student took 1.52ml of a stock CuSO4 solution, with a given concentration of 3.26mg/ml. He then added water to the solution until the total volume was 10.00ml. What was the final concentration of the CuSO4 solution after the water was added?

To solve this we use the equation,

M1V1 = M2V2

where M1 is the concentration of the stock solution, V1 is the volume of the stock solution, M2 is the concentration of the new solution and V2 is its volume.

3.26 x 1.52 = 13.26 x M2

M2 = 0.37 mg/mL
