well basically it is showing you two angles but if you look in the middle you see a 90 degree angle, now since the first angle is 45 degrees you have to find a number that adds up to 45 and will equal 90.
X= 90 divided by 45

The angle x and 45 are complementary angles. They add to 90 degrees.
90-45=45
x = 45
