So its x to the second power + 10x + 12 = 36
What I did was subtracted 12 from 36 to get 24
then when on from there to find the x valuse
x=2
x=-12
I'm sorry if its wrong I did it all in my head

Answer:

option 1st is correct

x = -12 or x = 2

Explanation:

Solve:

x^2+10x+12=36

Subtract 36 from both sides we have;

x^2+10x-24=0

Split the middle term we have;

x^2+12x-2x-24=0

then;

x(x+12)-2(x+12)=0

Take x+12 common we have;

(x+12)(x-2)=0

By zero product property, if ab =0 then a = 0 or b = 0

then;

x+12 = 0 or x -2 =0

⇒x = -12 or x = 2

therefore, the solutions are x = -12 or x = 2
