Cobe's mission was a kinetic project designed to study the "Big Bang echo". According to the scientists who formulated this experiment, the "echo", would be the existence of particles of light that are able to walk through space in all directions, with the same amount of energy (more or less as happened with the Big Bang), these particles would be the composition of the cosmic radiation generated by the Big Bang.
In order to find these particles, a satellite called WMAP was used, which not only found them, but allowed the creation of countless calculations, which affirm not only that the big bang happened, but also confirm that the cosmos had about 13.7 billion years (at the time the experiment took place), which matched the supportive age of the cosmos advocated by the Big Bang theory.
