Let, the cost of Car = x

Then, x * 0.02 = 1730

Now, You can write 0.02 as 2/100 [ By excluding the decimal from expression ]

So, x * 2/100 = 1730

x = 1730 * 100 / 2

x = 1730 * 50

x = 86500

In short, Price of the Car would be: $86500

Hope this helps!

remember you can do anything to an equation as long as you do it to both sides

cost times 0.02=1730
divide both sides by 0.02
cost=1730/0.03
cost=86500 or 86500.00

the cost is $86500
