24 subtracted from three times a number would be modeled by 3x-24. inhis problem we are settingit equal to 3/2 (or 1.5 because 3/2=1.5) so 3x-24=1.5
add 24 to each side
so 3x=25.5
divide both sides by 3
so x = 8.5
