The price of a pair of jeans increases from 40 to 45. Approximately how much did the store markup the price of the jeans?

% increase = Increase (new number - old number) ÷ original Number × 100.

45 - 40 = 5

= 12.5% Cheers!

Do you have any options? If not then try following the steps that are show down below

Let's see what we're working on here

(45 -40)/(40) (100)

(5)/(40) (100)

.125 (100) = 12.5
=
0.125(100) = 12.50

12.5% is the changing process and the increasing process as well!

Oh and by the way 12.5 can also be equivalent to
12.50but your actual answer would have to be just
12.5

Good Luck x :)
