A circle has a radius of 8 inches. Find the area of a sector of the circle if the sector has an arc that measures 45°.

Area of ENTIRE circle = PI * radius^2 =
3.14159 * 64
= 201.062 square inches
45 degrees is one eighth of a circle, so a 45 degree sector is

201.062 / 8 square inches =
25.133 square inches
