1 is C because you have to add 5m and 4m then you subtract 3n and 6n , and because it says to add them you have to put the addition sign between the two.

=9m - 3n ...combine like terns
answer is

B. 9m - 3n

2. Multiply: (x + 1)(x - 2)
=x^2 +x -2x - 2
=x^2 -x - 2
answer

D. x2 - x - 2
