assuming the cylinder is closed at both ends
S A = 2 pi r^2 + pir^2h
= 2 pi 6^2 + pi 6^2 24
= 226.2 + 2714.3
= 2940.5
If the cyilnder is open at both ends the surface area is 2714.3
