The area of square B is 25% greater than the area of square A. If the area of square B is 80 square inches, then what is the length in inches of the perimeter of square A?

Best Answer: Ab = 1.25Aa
80 = 1.25Aa
Aa = 64

Aa = Sa^2
64 = Sa^2
Sa = 8

Pa = 4S
Pa = 4(8)
Pa = 32

area Square B = area Square A * 1.25
80 / 1.25 = area Square A
area Square A = 64
area of a square = side^2
side of a square = sq root(area)
side of square A = 8
So each side of square A = 8

perimeter of a square = 4 * side
perimeter of square A = 32
