Find the equation in terms of y in the form x = f(y).

`\begin{gathered} y-2=(-3)/(x+1) \\ x+1=(-3)/(y-2) \\ x=(-3)/(y-2)-1 \end{gathered}`

Replace y by x in the right hand side, which will be the required inverse of the function.
