I assume you are looking for the answer to "math in the real world"....
m*(1/2)*(1/2)*(1/2)=6
m*(1/2)^3=6
m/8=6
m=$48

Emily started with $48.00.
You have to multiply $6.00 by 2/1(reciprocal of 1.2), and then that by the 2/1 from the bakery, and then that from the grocery store
