If a substance maintains its shape when it is placed into a different container, which state of matter is it in?

A. Liquid
B. Gas
C. Plasma
D. Solid

It would be a solid. For example, you take an ice cube out of the ice tray and place it in a cup. Does the ice cube change its cube shape from the freezer to the cup? No. That's because it's solid.
