So slope, aka gradient = (y₂ - y₁) ÷ (x₂ - x₁)

Let y₂ = -4; y₁ = -3; x₂ = 2; x₁ = 0 [so practically you use the coordinates given
and you assign 1 and 2 to the x and y values ; just
ensuring that 1 and 1 are from the same pair

∴ slope = ((-4) - (-3)) ÷ (2 - 0)

= 1 ÷ 2

=
(1)/(2)
