Of the 84 people who answered "yes" to a question, 14 were male. Of the 73 people that answered "no" to the question, 12 were male. If one person is selected at random from the group, what is the probability that the person answered "yes" or was male? Round to the nearest thousandth.

The probability that the person answered yes or was male can be found by deriving the total amount of males who answered yes or no, which is 26. Now, since it is asking for the probability of those who answered "yes or was male," you would subtract the amount of males who answered yes from the total amount of people who answered yes. You are left with 70 people who answered yes. Add 70 to 26 to get 96. Thus, of the total amount of people in the survey, 96 people of 157 (73+84=157,) answered yes or was male.

To find the probability of this, divide 96 by 157. The correct answer is 0.611
