Can someone explain to me or help me get an intuition for why phi = 2 * theta in this-example-1

This is obtuse ?

let phi = 135

2theta = 180 -135 = 45

theta = 22.5

phi != 2 * 22.5 != 45

Did you mean ?

phi = 180 - 2theta

Can you provide more explanation ?
