Primarly, they focused on suffrage, seeking women's right to vote.

The first feminism wave was the first women's rights movement and it took place in the 19th century. It focused on legal issues and on women's working conditions; although its main focus was on obtaining the right to vote, it also seeked other rights like property ownership, joint child custody and wage retention for women.
