A florist has 64 red balloons and 48 blue balloons. What is the greatest number of identical balloon bouquets that can be made without any balloons leftover?

A) 8
B) 12
C) 16
D) 18

You want to know the least integer ratio....

64:48=4:3 so we know that we can make bouquets of 4 red and 3 blue each.

And the maximum number of bouquets is then 16.

First, we're going to see if they have a similar GCF ( greatest common factor ).
64 = 4, 8, 12, 16, 20
48 = 8, 16, 24

As you can see, 16 is the GCF for 64 and 48.

This is how we solve the greatest number bouquets that can be made with no balloons left over.

The answer is 16.
