Why is the lack of a hierarchical structure a problem for political parties?

The lack of a hierarchical structure is a problem for the parties because in politics all participants seek to achieve maximum visibility in their actions, so that the absence of a hierarchical power to moderate politicians leads to conflicts of interest. For example, two people from the same party who want to play a preview will fight to the fullest to gain political support within the party, often this is done in a less than republican way. When there is a hierarchical structure, an order can be established with rules for the play.

I am very glad that i got to help you answering the question. the major fault is that the citizens never question the system itself. they take it for granted. the result of this act of lack of ability to question the usefulness of the hierarchy system itself is that the politic system is one of the continued disappointment and frustrations for the citizens.
