A. 9 bags at $2.25 each is $20.25.

B. 5 bags at $4.15 is $20.75.

C. I think it's pretty obvious that Molly earned more, but you can check is by subtracting B from A. $20.75 - $20.25 = $0.50. Molly earned 50 cents more.

You don't need to divide, only multiply and a little bit of subtraction.

Javier sold 9 bags for 2.25$.

9 x 2.25= 20.25

20.25 is the amount that Javier earned.

Molly sold 5 pieces of pie for $4.15 .

5 x 4.15 = 20.75.

$20.75 is the amount Molly earned.

20.75 - 20.25= .50.

Molly earned more.
