Which of the following sentences are examples of direct characterization? Frank was a very tall man, and managed to immediately intimidate most people he met. The door opened and in came ridiculous Reginald, as dapper and debonair as ever. I looked down the hall and laughed at the sight of little Janine struggling with her enormous suitcase. “Well,” said Jules, “as you know, I’ve never cared much for Sir Henry. He’s completely out of touch with commoners like ourselves.” NextReset

Direct Characterization is the use of descriptive words to talk about a character, through the writers or another character in the story.

Some examples of characterization here are:

Frank was a very tall man, and managed to immediately intimidate most people he met.

The door opened and in came ridiculous Reginald, as dapper and debonair as ever.

He’s completely out of touch with commoners like ourselves.
