A glacier advanced 12 feet during a 16-day period in January. The same glacier advanced 18 feet during a 24-day period in February. Are the ratios of feet to days proportional for these two periods of time? explain in two sentences how you got your anwser

Yes, both of these ratios are proportional. You could either plug it into an equation and solve it, or do like I did and divide. If you divide 16 by 12, you get 0.75. If You divide 24 by 18, you also get 0.75, therefore they are equal. The reason why I divided by the numbers that I did is because you're trying to figure out how much it increased and if it was equivalent. They increased 0.75% of their size that they started with.
