The absolute value of negative one and one third is one and one third because to find the absolute value you just count the spaces from zero and an absolute value can never be negative so the absolute value is 1 and 1/3.

Answer:

Absolute Value function.

Explanation:

  • Absolute Value refers to the distance of a number from 0, the distances are positive regardless of the direction of distance.
  • Absolute value of a number cannot be negative as distance is always positive.
  • Absolute value function can be defined as

f(x) = \mid x \mid = x, x > 0\\~~~~~~~~~~~~~~= -x, x < 0

f(-1) = \mid -1 \mid = -(-1) = 1

2)

f((1)/(3)) = \mid (1)/(3) \mid = (1)/(3)
