Given two inequalities represented on a number line

To Determine: The solutions of the inequality

Solution

It can be observed that the first number line started from number 10, and move towards the left

It should be known that numbers towards the left of 10 are less than 10, and because the point at 10 is shaded, it means that 10 is included. Therefore, the solution of the number line is less than or equal to 10. If the number is represented as x, then we can write the solution as

x\leq10

It can be observed that the second number line started from number 41, and move towards the right

It should be known that numbers towards the right of 41 are greater than 41, and because the point at 41 is shaded, it means that 41 is included. Therefore, the solution of the number line is greater than or equal to 41. If the number is represented as x, then we can write the solution as

x\ge41

Hence:

4) The examples of two values that are solutions of the inequality are 9 and 10, and examples of two values that are not solutions of the inequality are 11 and 12

5) The examples of two values that are solutions of the inequality are 41 and 42, and examples of two values that are not solutions of the inequality are 39 and 40
