Sam is training for an upcoming wrestling match. He trains 4 hours every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and only 3 hours on Thursday and Friday. How many hours will Sam train if the event is 6 full weeks away?

The first thing to do is calculate the number of hours Sam does trains per week.

To do so, we need to sum up the hour's Sam trains every day, as follows:

\begin{gathered} T_{\text{mon}}=T_{\text{tue}}=T_{\text{wed}}=4h \\ T_{\text{thu}}=T_{\text{fri}}=3h \end{gathered}

Now we calculate as follows:

\begin{gathered} T_{\text{week}}=T_{\text{mon}}+T_{\text{tue}}+T_{\text{wed}}+T_{\text{thu}}+T_{\text{fri}} \\ T_{\text{week}}=4h+4h+4h+3h+3h \\ T_{\text{week}}=18h \end{gathered}

Now, we know the number of hours trained every week, we just need to calculate how much is for six weeks:

\begin{gathered} T_{\text{total}}=T_{\text{week}}+T_{\text{week}}+T_{\text{week}}+T_{\text{week}}+T_{\text{week}}+T_{\text{week}} \\ T_{\text{total}}=6*18h \\ T_{\text{total}}=108h \end{gathered}

From the solution presented above, we are able to conclude that Sam is going to train 108h until the event.
