Explain two different ways to simplify 6/12

You can simplify it as...
3/6: Because that's 6/2 and 12/2, so the numerator and denominator recieve the same operations
2/4: Because it's 6/3 which = 2, and 12/4 which = 4
1/2: Because it's 6/6=1 and 12/6=2

I hope this helped! If you have any other questions, just ask, and I hope you have a great day! :)

Answer:

The value is 0.5

Explanation:

we have to find the two different ways to simplify
(6)/(12)

First way: By prime factorization

Factors of 6 and 12 are

6=2* 3

12=2* 3* 2

Now, cancel the common factors, we get

(6)/(12)={1}{2}=0.5

Second way: Take GCD

GCD({6:12})=2* 3=6

Divide both numerator and denominator by GCD, we get

(6)/(12)=((6)/(6))/((12)/(6))=(1)/(2)=0.5
