One, cause there both linear line equations and therefore can only cross once:
3x - 7 = 4x + 10
x = -17; this should be the only sol'n

remember you can do anything to an equation as long as you do it to both sides

first simplify

3x-7=4+6+4x
3x-7=10+4x
minus 3x both sides
3x-3x-7=10+4x-3x
0-7=10+1x
-7=10+x
minus 10 both sides
-10-7=10-10+x
-17=0+x
-17=x
