squar root both sides
z=+/-0.8
if you are having trouble wit the decimals

0.64=64/100
so if you squar root both sides
remember
\sqrt{ (x)/(y) } = ( √(x) )/( √(y) ) so

\sqrt{ (64)/(100) } = ( √(64) )/( √(100) ) = ( √(8) )/( √(10) )=+/-0.8

Answer:

z = \pm 0.8

Explanation:

Use exponent rules:

\sqrt[n]{x^n} = x

Solve the equation:

z^2 = 0.64

Taking square root both sides we have;

√(z^2) = \pm √(0.64)

Apply the exponent rule we have;

z = \pm √(0.64)

We can write 0.64 as:

0.64 = 0.8 \cdot 0.8 = (0.8)^2

then;

z = \pm √((0.8)^2)

Simplify:

z = \pm 0.8
