Martin Luther was a hero because he risked his life to stand for something he believed in. We consider veterans the same because they risk their life for our freedom.

He didn't want to me controlled by the church anymore. Some called him a hero because they wanted to be free as well. Others called him a fool because they though the church ruling was just fine.
