There was a lot of ways the Vietnam war effected the American people. For example, America spent a lot of money on the veterans and damaged the economy. The war also split the citizens in two, due to different beliefs among them. Leaving most to lose trust in the government and military choices. A third could be the veterans suffered physiological problems and many American's did not like them.

Being a military brat who had a grandfather who served in the war, I learned a lot from him and how society itself viewed the war. Hope that helps.
