When thinking of surface area, you can split the cylinder into the two circles and the rectangle wrapped along the circumference of the circles.
Calculate the area of the two circles:
A=2(pi)r^2=2(3.14)(64)=401.92
Calculate the circumference of the circle to get the length of that rectangle:
C=(pi)d=50.24
Calculate the area of the rectangle using the circumference of the circle and the height of the cylinder:
A=50.24*8=401.92
Add:
401.92+401.92=803.84 m^2
Therefore the surface area of the cylinder is 803.8 m^2
