There are 1.25 ounces of juice in 8 in3 of oranges. If you have a sack of oranges which each have a diameter of 3.5 inches, approximately how many oranges do you need to make a 12 ounce glass of juice? (round to nearest whole number)

12oz(8in^3orange/1.25oz)=76.8 in^3 of oranges...

Vo=(4p(3.5/2)^3)/3=22.45 in^3 per orange...

76.8 in^3(orange/22.45 in^3)=3.42 oranges...

Round down to 3 oranges...

Answer:

The number of required oranges for 12 ounce of juice = 4

Explanation:

Number of orange juice glasses in 1.25 ounces of juice = 8

⇒ 1.25 ounces of juice contains 8 orange juice glasses

⇒ Number of orange juice glass in 1 ounce of juice = 8/1.25 = 6.4

⇒ Number of orange juice glass in 12 ounce of juice = 6.4 × 12 = 76.8

Now, diameter of orange = 3.5 inches

⇒ Radius of orange = 1.75 inches

\text{Volume of orange = }(4)/(3)\pi* radius^3\\\\\implies \text{Volume = }(4)/(3)* (22)/(7)* (1.75)^3\approx 22.46\: \:inches^3

Now, Number of oranges required = 76.8/22.46 ≈ 3.42

Therefore, The number of required oranges for 12 ounce of juice = 4
