The biggest obstacle Britain faced in terms of territorial expansion was that it was located on an island, unlike other European nations. To expand meant expanding overseas. Hope this helps!

Answer:

b. Constant invasions and foreign influence, lack of a unified government, and lack of naval strength

Step-by-step explanation:

When the new world was being discovered and claimed by the other European Nations, the king of England had the marvelous idea to separate England from the vatican and the catholic church since they didn´t allow him to divorce from his wife, so he founded the Anglican church, this was a very bad move for the king since it divided the government, he lost support of the people, and there were many invasions, from spain, portugal and the Dutches, England also didn´t have a good navy, wouldn´t be until half a century later that they´d develop a serious and effective navy.
