Tell it challenge: What is the difference between a Parrotlet and a Parakeet?

Answer: A Parakeet doesn't bite like an English Budgie, while mean and agressive Parrotlet's could bite human beings.

Explanation: When my other bird died I think he was a English Budgie he bit me everyday from the cage. And my yellow female parrotlet bit me. My blue parrotlet doesn't bite me because he is hand fed.

Pretty huge difference actually-- starting with parrotlets are from South America, parakeets are from Australia. Parakeets actually account for a huge array of species, not just the common budgies they refer to. Parrotlets are also much more aggressive than budgies, parrotlets have bigger beaks that budgies, but both birds are social. For a beginner pet, I'd probably suggest the budgie over the parrotlet simply because their pecks hurt less! (Speaking from experience!)
