Three vertices of a square have coordinates (3,1), (4, -4) and (-1, -5). The diagonals of the square intersect at point Q. Determine the coordinates of point Q. Include steps please.

(-1,-5) connects to (3,1) to form a diagonal.

So the midpoint of a segment joining these two points is where the two diagonals intersect as well...the midpoint is just the average of the coordinates from these two corners...

((-1+3)/2 , (-5+1)/2) so point Q is (1,-2)
