but,

the GCF of 24a, 3b and 36ab is 3.

Answer:

The GCF of 24a, 3b and 36ab is 3

Explanation:

The factors of 24 is = 24a/2a = 12 , where 2 is the first factor

= 12/2 = 6

= 6/2 = 3

= 3/3 = 1

factors of 24 : 2a, 2, 2, 3.

factors of 3 : 3

To find the factors of 36ab; 36ab/2ab = 18

= 18/ 2 = 9

= 9/3 = 3

= 3/3 = 1

factors of 36ab: 2, 2, 3, 3

So, the highest or greatest common factors within 24a, 3b and 36ab = 3
