2. What is the distance between the points (1, –6) and (–5, 2)?

they are 6 apart on the x axis and 8 apart on the y axis so if you use the distance of y to be one side of a triangle and the distance of x to be the other, you can use pythagorus to find the hypoteneus which should be the distance between the two points.

ex. √(6² + 8²) = distance

√(36 + 64) = distance

√100 = distance

10 = distance

distance between the two points is D) 10.
