SOLUTION

Find the perimeter of a rectangle whose length is 150 m and the diagonal is 170 m.

The problem can be modeled using the figure below

Notice that the triangle formed is a right triangle:

Therefore using Pythagorean theorem it follows:


x^2+150^2=170^2

Solve for x


\begin{gathered} x^2=170^2-150^2 \\ x^2=6400 \\ x=80 \end{gathered}

Therefore the other leg no miss
