when multiplying fractions you don't have to set the bottom denominater the same so just cross multiply. 1 x 2 = 2 and 8 x 3 = 24 so it equals 2/24 but to simplify you have to find out what times what goes into both 2 and 24 which is 2 so 2 goes into 2, 1 times and 2 goes into 24, 12 times so in simplest for it's 1/12
