Part (a)

The dependent variable should be y for a function y=f(x).

Therefore, in this case dependent variable is profit

Part (b)

The independent variable is number of tickets sold.

Part (c)

Consider two coordinates in the graph (40,60) and (20,30).

Then, the slope will be,


\begin{gathered} m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1) \\ =(60-30)/(40-20) \\ =1.5 \end{gathered}

Therefore, the avlue of slope is 1.5.

Part (d)

The slope is the rate of change profif with repect to the number of tickets sold for a circus.

Part (e)

From the graph, it can be noted that the y intersept is 0. Because intitial point is (0,0).
